A Cambridge restaurant, known in part for its colonial theme and regional cuisine, is closing.
According to Patrick maguire of Maguire Promotions & Hospitality Consulting (with an article from boston.com), Loyal Nine in East Cambridge is shutting down, with an Instagram post from the Cambridge Street spot saying the following:
Following the dinner service on Saturday, December 18, Loyal Nine will close for the last and final time. As a company and as individuals, we have grown a lot since we started our restaurant and cafe seven years ago. While the past 18 months have had their challenges, reflecting on our time in East Cambridge comes with sincere joy as we appreciate all that has been given to us. Thank you to our community, our staff and our regulars.
The message states that Northern Spy in Canton – which is owned by the same owner – will remain active.
Loyal Nine, which opened in 2015, takes its name from a group of patriots who protested against the Stamp Act in the 1760s; the menu includes items such as tuna nuggets, calamari, porchetta, lobster rolls, brisket sandwiches, slow roasted pork shoulder, and bread pudding.
Loyal Nine’s address is 660 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA, 02141. Their website can be found at https://www.loyalninecambridge.com/
